LOT Cinema Case

Overview

As part of the “LOT Kino Letnie” event in Warsaw, I designed a 5-minute looped 2D animation and customized the visual setup of a quiz that took place before the film screening.

The goal was to create an engaging yet simple and clear form of interaction for the audience.

Challenge

The audience arrived gradually before the film started. The solution needed to:

  • inform viewers about the upcoming quiz,

  • naturally guide them from awareness to action,

  • allow quick participation without additional instructions,

  • encourage participation in a contest with prizes.

The key challenge was designing a flow that minimized friction and reduced the time needed to decide to participate.

Solution

I designed a two-stage mechanism:

Stage 1 – Announcement
A looped animation informed viewers about the upcoming film and the quiz with prizes before the screening.

Stage 2 – Join
The animation transitioned into a screen allowing immediate participation via a QR code.

The entire process was intentionally simplified — users see the information, scan the code, and join the quiz.

The quiz was visually customized to match the event’s identity, creating a cohesive brand experience.

Results

  • Over 300 participants joined the quiz via QR code

  • Approximately 9,000 reactions were generated

  • The top 3 participants received prizes

  • High audience engagement before the screening

The project demonstrated that in an event setting, clarity of communication and a low barrier to entry are more important than visual effects.
